Glass Houses
I spent Tuesday evening at a launch party for Sandra Howard’s excellent first novel, Glass Houses. Actually I haven’t read it yet but I know it will be brilliant and I bought three copies. The highlight of the eveningw as meeting Sir David Frost. I got Michael Howard to introduce me, as I was too shy to bowl up to him. I wanted to meet him as I saw the fantastic production of Frost/Nixon last week at the Donmar. Written by Peter Morgan, who is on a bit of a roll, as he is also the author of Heln Mirren’s The Queen, it tells the tale of Frost’s interview with Nixon in 1977, the first interview with the ex-President, and one where he first effectively admitted his guilt. David has seen the play and enjoyed it. I urged him to get a share of the royalties - it will definitely be made into a Hollywood movie.
