					<description>Hi Ed,

What's your view on whether Ofcom should allocate spectrum for HD to Freeview? The Freeview lot (who i do a lot of work for), via campaign group HD for All, are trying to lobby hard to get government to change its non-intervention stance with Ofcom and order them to consider ring fencing the spectrum needed to provide HD on Freeview.

This seems only fair. Government are the ones that have always pushed analogue switch-off, promising that it will enable us to enjoy television services fit for the new digital age. We are required to spend our own money to make ourselves ready for analogue switch off and now it is very likely that the main platform everyone will get, namely Freeview, won't have the ability to offer this key innovation of the digital TV revolution - just because our greedy government want to sell the spectrum to the highest bidder.

Would be very interested to hear your view. Had a lovely supper with Alex on Tuesday.
