Sorry Emily
My comment that the funniest moment of the Arctic Trip was when Emily Thornberry fell off an igloo caused a bit of a stir. It was picked up by the Evening Standard and by Iain Dale. I hope that Emily took it in good part, as she herself thought it was hysterical. What I do have to apologise for, unreservedly, however, is the unintended consequences of my remark. My local paper, the Oxford Times, picked up the story. And it described her as - gulp - a Liberal Democrat. Given that Emily is (a) as New Labour as they come and (b) defending a wafer thin majority agains the Lib Dems, this is about the worst insult that could be thrown at Emily. Sorry Emily.
