Mis-spacing and misrepresenting personal number plates is never clever. And I've seen some shocking examples that people try to pass off with the use of additional screws and squashed numbers. It really doesn't look good, and it's just asking for trouble.

Amen to that! One of the downsides of our industry is these people who mis-space their plates so horrifically. It gives the whole hobby a bad name.

Illegal number plates are a huge problem in this country. There are many ways a number plate can be illegally represented e.g. addition/removal of letters, illegal fonts, addition of screws, modification of characters etc. Have a look at the hundreds of examples at http://www.flickr.com/groups/twatplates/
