I agree with Conservative Home on seats

I agree with Conservative Home -  they are spot on to launch their equalisation of seats camapign, the electoral system is thoroughly undemocratic, and no that is not an endorsement of PR!  (I also agree with them a bit on people getting carried away by Obama.)

  1. I really don’t like that website - and try NEVER to click on it.

    :)

Read the views of Kos from Daily Kos. One of the biggest political blogs in the USA…

    That’s more interesting.

  2. Could that be because you are left-wing canvas? CH is mainstream conservative, Daily Kos is strong left.

  3. Oh that dreaded left/right question! :) I’m just nice. ‘Left or right?’ seems a bit 20th century, agree? disagree?

I don’t like ConHome because it is usually full of those old style ‘nasty Tories’.
David Cameron is doing a good job with his Tory decontamination process - but it looks like all the NASTIES fled to that particular website.

I like the blogger Kos from Daily Kos. He is a sensible chap and he has his finger on the pulse. Which is why I like Uncle Ed Vaizey. And Dizzy too. :)

I try to do my bit for the “nice Cameronite Tories” there - they do exist, honest. ;)

Yes, the seats distribution is grotesquely distorted in Labour’s favour at the moment. There is still something up the Tories’ sleeve though - the swings will probably be biggest in the marginal seats (like they were in the 1992 and 1997 when a change of government was a real possibility).
This problem has been around a while actually - Labour won 209 seats in 1983 for 28% of the vote, while the Conservatives only won 165 seats in 1997 for 31% of the vote.
