Sue, sounds like things are normalising, especially with the kids! Their age group must rate as the most difficult for the majority of parents. Then, if you don't pack them off to uni, you'll probably have at least one of them until they are in their mid-late 20's because they can't afford to get a place of their own. Bet that's cheered you up no end!

Yes, I felt the tremor up here. I knew what it was because it felt the same as the one 20+ years ago (epicentre in Wales) when I was still in Oxford. We have also had severe gales this week, with a roof blown off from Durham University, though thankfully no damage this time to our house. Back in the winter of 98/99 we had to make a biggish claim due to storm damage then, erm, switched to a different insurance company when they loaded us. I suppose you're not in a position to do that nowadays, though.

I've been a bit busy with other stuff in my life to go to the other place; I'll probably stick to here and Iain Dale's site, meanwhile.

Hey, came across Ed's blog on Joseph from a couple of years ago:

It would be a real bummer to be born on the 29th Feb - a fiver on the name Frederic, if so!!

Hi Tizzy - exciting, innit? :D According to a local newsletter, the baby was due yesterday.

I'm okay, thanks for asking. We've been in our rented house for about 3 weeks now, and it's feeling more homely. We got a letter from our insurance co yesterday saying that our contents and buildings insurance is due for renewal in April, and they're putting a 50% loading on the premium  I guess I should be grateful that they'll still insure us, but it's a bit of a sting in the tail as the stream has never flooded before and probably (hopefully) never will again! Thankfully we didn't have to make another claim after the earthquake, though the earth definitely moved for me as I was lying in bed

Don't mention my kids - they are driving me to distraction with their constant bickering and moods. They've both had birthdays, my eldest is now 13 and his sister is now 12 - I wish they were still babies, like Ed's, those were the happiest times of my life, now it's a constant battleground - Ed, take heed LOL

How are you doing Tizzy? How's the other place? I don't go there anymore as I have to use a different browser to make it work :( But I've re-discovered my local library and am getting through loads of good books instead of spending hours on line like I used too!

I hope Ed'll tell us how things are going - I want all the details, dob, name, weight etc etc

Hey Ed, are you a new daddy yet? Please let us know the good news, hope all goes well for your wife, and that Joseph copes well with his new brother or sister. I guess this will mean your blog will be quieter than ever, but at least let us share in your good news when the little one arrives.

Hi Sue, I wouldn't worry too much about the LibDems. They tend to be quite fair minded people. I would worry more about Gordon Brown and his lot.

Actually, I can vote in the Primaries and the US elections becasue I am a dual national. There are many Democrats Abroad based in the UK. :)

Never mind about the harmless LibDems… sorry canvas, but for those of us in Ed's constituency, we do worry about the LibDems because they are anything but harmless :( I'm glad he's brought this to the public's attention - it's more important right now than anything that is going on over the other side of the pond - we can do nothing to influence who becomes America's next President, but we CAN influence who becomes the next County Councillor for Wantage and Grove, which we will be voting for on 13th March. Go Ed, Go Bill Melotti :D

Never mind about the harmless LibDems...

When are going to come clean about your dodgy prediction of a Clinton/Romney campaign?

Politicians should listen to what the people are telling them...
We've been telling you for ages that Obama is going to be the next US President!

It's going to be Obama/McCain. McCain will never win because he works on the basis of 'fear and revenge'. He wants to be in Iraq for perhaps the next 100 years? John McCain offers nothing more than a third term of George Bush's policies. More fear-mongering etc etc. McCain stands no chance. He is far too old and all he does is talk about the past. What about the future?

It's Barack Obama all the way. The writing is on the wall. :)

Go Obama.
